Description

This is a model of a differential. It allows you to manually turn the handle and apply a load to the transparent wheels to demonstrate the differential mechanism.
In automotive mechanics, the differential gear arrangement allows for power from the engine to be transmitted to a pair of driving wheels, which divides the force equally between them and permits them to follow paths of different lengths, as when turning a corner or crossing an uneven road. On a straight road, the wheels rotate at the same speed. When turning a corner, the outside wheel has farther to go, and will turn faster than the inner wheel if unrestrained.

The model is intended for demonstration of a design, studying of a working principle, an estimation of working capacity, receptions on maintenance service and repair. The use of this visual aid makes it possible to significantly accelerate and qualitatively improve the learning process due to its clarity and the ability to focus students' attention on a particular component of the device (functional element, node or part) presented in close-up. Note. By agreement, a section of the differential of a certain motor vehicle can be made. A differential rotation system can also be installed.
